KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eleven Sun Belt men’s basketball student-athletes were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2016-17 Honors Court today. It recognizes those men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
The Sun Belt Conference will be represented by 17 men’s and women’s student-athletes across 11 different events this week at the 2017 NCAA track and field championships.
The events start Wednesday in Eugene, Oregon. The four-day event will conclude on Friday with the mens’ team award winner and the women’s team winner on Saturday.
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball shortstop DJ Sanders and outfielder Aleah Craighton were both named to the 2017 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-America First Team, the Association announced on Wednesday afternoon.
NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced the television selections for the first three weeks of the football regular season, kick times for previously selected weekday conference games on ESPN2 and ESPNU as well as a schedule change for a conference game between Texas State and Troy.
On Thursday, Athlon Sports writer Steven Lassan published the site’s 2017 Sun Belt All-Conference Football Team.
Defending co-champ Appalachian State led the Sun Belt with 16 players across the four teams, half of which were on the first team. Troy and last year’s co-champion Arkansas State followed, tied for 13 players in all.
